So, this week was pretty interesting. We went to D´s house towards the beginning of the week and he had a mad fever.   He was so sick he could barely walk to the door. I wasn´t even going to go in, but he insisted.  We started talking, and he was so sweaty!   His body was so hot and the weather didn´t help!   But as we were sitting there talking he stopped sweating and went back to normal.   We finished up and left.  We went back the next day and he said he was fine while we were at his house but the second we left he went back to the way he was, all sweaty, diarrhea and vomiting. We were teaching the lesson and he stopped us in the middle and asked what ``that`` was.   I didn't know what he was talking about and he showed us.   It was Elder S little bottle of oil that he carries. We explained it and he asked for a blessing.   It was like he didn't know what that little bottle was, but somewhere inside of him he knew he needed it!   We gave him the blessing and all he said was, ``Eu creio`` (I believe)   It was awesome.   He told us if he didn't get better that night he would go to the Hospital.   I tried calling him that night to see how he was but he didn't answer.   I´m guessing he went there. So this week he wasn´t able to be baptized, but we will do everything we can to make it happen next week.
During all of this, after the first visit, Elder S got really sick, like the same thing D had.   It lasted for like two days, then I got it, two more days.  We didn't have much time to make a whole lot of new investigators, but we were able to take care of the ones we have.   We´re all better now!   The Zone Leaders called and said, out of all of the people marked to be baptized last week, four of them didn't happen due to that same sickness that we caught.   It was like a weird virus in the air.
I also did three baptismal interviews this week and all of the people passed and were baptized.   It´s amazing - the excitement in people’s eyes knowing they are doing the right thing, following the example of Jesus Christ, being baptized by someone that holds the true authority of God!   The two other Elders that live with us had a baptism and right before it started one of them grabbed a young women's hymn book and said we were going to sing a special musical number.. We sang, ``I feel my Saviors Love.``   I don't know how they talked me into that one..  But it worked out alright and the members said we didn't sound that bad after all.   Ha ha
I know this church is true and that we are doing the Lords work,
and I love it!

Então...

This week was so good!!

Remember that thing that people say when a missionary hits a year everyone stops writing them?? Ha ha it´s true. But thanks to those faithful ones that keep the letters coming in. :) I appreciate it.

Anyways, Our main man, D went out of town this week and we missed like four days of teaching him. His baptism is marked for this Sunday and depending on when he gets back it should be all good. I remember before he went out of town we were explaining some of the commandments and I was explaining them in detail just to make sure he’s all good with it, and he stopped me and said. ``Dude, stop saying all of this weird stuff, I don't do any of that!" It was pretty funny and a huge relief, hearing that from a 22 year old man. It just goes to show how God prepares people for us even before we meet them. Most of the time the people don't even realize it too, but that´s our job. :)

This week we worked with a lot of Less active members. It´s great to see the ones with the desire to return and live the way we are supposed to. One scripture I always share with them is Alma 34;32-33 . We don't use it to burn people but just to show the importance of using our time wisely. All of the things of this world are good, but the one thing we need to focus on is preparing to meet God. Cars are cool, video games are cool, there are a lot of  ``cool`` things in the world. But are we going to church? Are we STUDYING the scriptures every day? Are we saying our daily prayers? It starts with the small and simple things. I know that if we do these things, it will be a protection for us. We will walk out of our homes protected. We know that when we fulfill the commandments, we are blessed. It´s so simple. Don't look back, just start doing it right now.

There is not time in the future, for things we can do
today.
I studied Alma 7 a ton this week too. READ IT, and then tell somebody about it!
 I´m serious!

I´m learning, I´m happy, And I can’t wait to continue serving for the rest of my mission.

(We had a visit from our ward’s Elder and an Elder C from Brasil. They were on splits. Elder C said that there is Portugal Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese and then there is Fortaleza Portuguese!! He said it is impressive that Elder Kyler is doing so well with the language because where he is the accent is very heavy, and thick and there is much slang.)

This accent where I am is ridiculous.. I´m kind of jealous of Miclaine because of where he´s at.. They´re all going to make fun of my Portuguese when I get back, because of the slang and the way I’ll be talking. It makes it easier though that we serve with missionaries from other areas of Brasil. I picked up alot of the slang from Curitiba from Elder P though! Ha ha ha

então does mean then.. or so.
so what it meant was..
So.. this week was great! like when people get up to talk in church they say...
Então, today I’m going to speak about... da da da

Olá!
okay, so this week was.. GREAT! Ha ha.. as always..

We have had some awesome things happen to us in the past week! We were leaving lunch the other day  and this guy stopped us in the middle of the road and asked us if we ``preach`` the word to all types of people. Ha ha of course we said ``YES!``   He was pretty wasted though, and it happens alot. But we wrote down his address and went by there the next day.  Apparently he is having all types of problems, and he has been drinking forever and finally decided he wants a better life.  We taught him the first lesson and you could see it in his eyes how he wanted it so bad . We went back the next day and he wasn´t home.. We went back the day after that and he wasn´t there once again, but his brother was there.   He´s so legit.   He´s married, like for real!   Legally married, it´s so rare.  The only only problem is he plays a HUGE part in his church so he would get alot of trouble from his acquaintances if he came to our church. We taught him about the Restoration and he was super duper interested and really wants to make a visit and see what it´s really like.   I was super happy when we got to know him because one part of our area is pretty rich  but the people are so closed but he wasn´t!   And the other part is really poor but the people are humble. We just want to help everyone though!
We´ve been teaching a guy named D____.   He is a very simple man, but he is so awesome.   He gets so happy every time he sees us!   He has such a desire to learn more about the Gospel.  He went to church and loved it!  The Bishoprich just got switched up here so the ward was kind of mixed up and confusing on Sunday, but D____ loved it anyways!   Imagine how much more he´ll like it when things run the way they should!! :)   If everything goes how it should he will be baptized on Sunday after church!

We were at a ward members house on Saturday just visiting, he tells us to pass by his house every single day to eat dinner.  He´s so awesome.   But we only go like once a week or he gets mad at us.   But we were just chilling there talking and these people bust into his house!   I was so surprised and confused not knowing what was going on, and then a ward member walks in with a birthday cake and they all begin singing happy birthday!   Ha ha ha   it was awesome.  Then we ate pizza and chocolate cake!
Things are going well here.   Everything is pretty normal.. just so hot.  But that´s how it goes.   We´re just getting ripped and tan! ;)    Tem que sofrer para crescer.   (Have to suffer to grow)  hah
